Are you practicing any Wellness in your current lifestyle?

Wellness is about nurturing and supporting the body, mind and spirit. It is about activities which make us thrive.

Activities which contribute to us flourishing or thriving include healthy eating, with the social interaction that meals can offer. In many Mediterranean cultures these shared meals also includes wine as part of the social ritual.

Wellness is also about exercise, activities we enjoy, relaxation and periods of reflection or meditation, which allow space and calm for our otherwise busy minds.

Many cultures have embraced the concept of ‘Wellness’ over the centuries, with activities involving regular use of thermal waters or spas; the tradition of sauna; retreats to areas such as the Alps, known for their clean air and nature; physical therapies; specific exercises and stretching; and dietary changes or periods of fasting.
There are certain areas in the world termed “Blue Zones”, where populations in these specific areas are remarkable for their longevity. Despite being located in very different cultures, these populations embrace many aspects of Wellness throughout their long lives.
